Of Mary 
The peasant girl
Summoned to be
Mother of the saviour 
Mother of God .
She had no choice
It was not an invitation 
But she did more than comply
What did she learn 
In those next months 
daily reminded if the perilous task 
Given her
What did she learn
Over those next years about
God's faithfulness
And the way of love. 
What do we learn 
From this wahine toa 
About our response
Living and loving 
As disciples today
